And especially for today we have a story that was written by a wonderful gentleman who wrote many , many fairy stories. You can read all about him before the story.
THE TWELVE MONTHS.
There was once a widow who had two daughters, Helen, her own child by her dead husband, and Marouckla, his daughter by his first wife. She loved Helen, but hated the poor orphan because she was far prettier than her own daughter.
Marouckla did not think about her good looks, and could not understand why her stepmother should be angry at the sight of her. The hardest work fell to her share. She cleaned out the rooms, cooked, washed, sewed, spun, wove, brought in the hay, milked the cow, and all this without any help.
Helen, meanwhile, did nothing but dress herself in her best clothes and go to one amusement after another.

After this there is the wonderful story of Daffodeelia, which was written this time by an author from Sri Lank. Not only does she write her stories in her own language, she also writes in Tamil and English. and is she ever wonderful. Her name is
Janaki Sooriyarachchi and again you can read all about her and visit her fabulous website. you will not be disappointed.
Daffodeelia is about a young fairy, read and enjoy
Daffodeelia was a pretty little fairy. She was as pretty as the prettiest wildflower. Her hair was golden color, and her eyes were the deepest blue. She was always very happy and lively, and her smile was like a be autiful rainbow. Wherever she went, her merry laugh rainbow could be heard.
Daffodeelia’s favorite hobby, was painting flowers. She had a lovely little paint bucket and a magical paintbrush. When she dipped the brush into the paint bucket and touched the flowers with just the tip of it, they glowed with wonderful colours. She enjoyed painting flowers very much.

Read the Book as written by Charles Perrault, which is a favourite pantomime of Children

PUSS IN BOOTS
A Pantomime for 2009 from Diddily.

There was a miller who left no more estate to the three sons he had than his mill, his ass, and his cat. scrivener nor attorney was sent for. They would soon have eaten up all the poor patrimony. The eldest had the mill, the second the ass, and the youngest nothing but the cat. The partition was soon made. Neither The poor young fellow was quite comfortless at having so poor a lot.

"My brothers," said he, "may get their living handsomely enough by joining their stocks together; but for my part, when I have eaten up my cat,1and made me a muff of his skin, I must die of hunger."

The Cat, who heard all this, but made as if he did not, said to him with a grave and serious air:

"Do not thus afflict yourself, my good master. You have nothing else to do but to give me a bag and get a pair of boots made for me that I may scamper through the dirt and the brambles, and you shall see that you have not so bad a portion in me as you imagine."

The Cat's master did not build very much upon what he said. He had often seen him play a great many cunning tricks to catch rats and mice, as when he used to hang by the heels, or hide himself in the meal, and make as if he were dead; so that he did not altogether despair of his affording him some help in his miserable condition.

When the Cat had what he asked for he booted himself very gallantly, and putting his bag about his neck, he held the strings of it in his two forepaws and went into a warren where was great abundance of rabbits. He put bran and sow-thistle into his bag, and stretching out at length, as if he had been dead, he waited for some young rabbits, not yet acquainted with the deceits of the world, to come and rummage his bag for what he had put into it.

Blog for New Year Blog for New Year Blog for New Year

BE HAPPY TODAY for It's Happiness Day

I must apologise for the lack of blogs at the Castle this month, as you
can imagine having a family the size of mine you have a million and one
things to take care of.

It has been a very strange month mind you, an awful lot of things have
happened, the landmark Woolworth have closed their doors in Aberdare
today. The first in Wales to do so, I wasn't a huge customer, I think I
gave up going their when I became a mother and found other things like
food to spend my hard earned house-keeping on.

I suppose I grew up with Woolworth, M & S, Littlewoods, they have
all gone now as well
I think. Hey does anyone remember Timothy Whites,
the fore-runner to Mr Bevan here in Wales. My early Christmas memories where in Liverpool the home of my Grandmother, "Number 10 Kremlin Drive, Stonycroft. Gosh that was almost sixty years ago, deary me I
am an Ancient Dragon after all, hee he. Lister Drive School, The Swimming Baths, the Carlton Cinema, Mrs Mullins Sweetie Shop were we could buy four blackjacks for a penny (1d, that is!) A liquorice stick and a piece of Sticky Lice. Come on who amongst you old codgers remembers Sticky Lice. You can still get it in Wrexham in that wee shop on the left before going into the market. (or on the right if you're coming out, Smile
I have the Swiss Family Robinson on the TV, I'm not sure a desert island is for me, I like my music too much, I don't think I could live a week before listening or watching Pink Floyd in Venice. Agh- h- h! and what about Lord of the Rings, I couldn't go without the films, oh dear, what am I talking about. If the worst ever happened I guess we all live on an island anyway, just chop off the Channel Tunnel, hey and were free again.
Wink
Right
where was I, Yes Mrs Mullins, but that was ages ago, times past as in the fabulous stories of Charles Dickens, and were back in Pontybodkyn watching the Family Robinson.
with
dozens of birds and squirrels fighting for the seeds put out by Peter, my beloved Embarassed I also have a couple of dogs, Abbey and Penny , there pics scattered over the home-pages of my web sites. Gosh which brings me back to 13.20 on Saturday 27th December, and must be cup of tea time. I still have a few things to do before putting the first chapter of book three of the Dragon Lord Trilogy into place.
So if you will forgive me again, I will get on with some work now... after my cup of tea, of course.... I hope to see you all very soon and I promise plenty more blogs.

Happy New Year to Every One and may 2009 be the best one yet.

The Little Juggler, is the story of a small miracle which happened in France a very, very long time ago, enjoy it is in The French section of diddilyd

THE LITTLE JUGGLER
The story of a Small Miracle

Once upon a time - hundreds and hundreds of years ago there lived in the peaceful land of France a little man who by trade was a juggler. On holidays he used to walk from village to village, and give his show in the market squares.
First, he would spread out is shabby rug and arrange the dishes and knives and balls that he needed for his act. All the time he would be cracking the poor little jokes he had learn't from an old juggler who had taught him his tricks. Then, as he turned a few cartwheels and spun some plates in the air, the crowd would gather. When he ended his act by standing on his hands and juggling six balls with his feet, coins would pour into his hat from every side. But he never collected enough to pay for food and shelter in the winter months.
One cold day he was found lying half-starved in a ditch and carried to a nearby monestry. There he was nursed by the kindly monks, and when spring came round he was almost himself again.

This is a beautiful Wedding Blessing that was given to us by the Apache Indians of Old America. I had it read at my wedding to Peter in January

APACHE WEDDING BLESSING

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth to the other.

Now there will be no loneliness,
for each of you will be companion to the other.

Now you are two person's but there is only one life before you.

May beauty surround you both in the journey ahead
 and through all the years.

May happiness be your companion,

Local News, Suppose, Local News.

SUPPOSE

Suppose the man high up in the Moon
Came really tumbling down;
And suppose that he met Jack and Jill
Before Jack broke his crown:

Suppose that they found all the sheep
That Little Bo-Peep had lost;
And they picked up the man that the Angry Cow
With the Crumpled Horn had tossed:

Supposed they saved the Blackbirds all
From being baked in a pie;
And from the Spider's Parlour
They took the Liitle Fly:

Supposed that Dr. Foster came
Before his feet were wet;
And they took poor Humpty Dumpty down
From the wall where he was set:

Wilma the Witch wants you to visit her new page in Seligor's Castle

Wilma was a Witch, but if she could have been anything else than a witch she would have been happy.
Wilma was fed up, she sighed again, how was a witch supposed to earn any money for food with no spells to sell and as if that wasn’t bad enough the other day she decided to go and visit the bats that lived beyond the Petrified Forest. To begin with she was almost knocked off her broomstick by some silly Trolls who were playing hoggy in the middle with a live hedgehog. Poor little hedgehog, he was not at all happy.
Then when she finally arrived at the bat cave all she found was a note pinned to the door of their cave, it looked like it had been written in blood.

It read:

"To whom it may concern
We are very sorry about this but we have decided
to immigrate to Africa to stay with our African cousins.
We are fed up with this cave it’s so cold in wintertime.
We don't really know when, or even if we shall
bats return but we’re afraid there will be no more Bat wings or
any more of our spare parts for years, maybe! "

As a rosebud sweet:
That's the kind of little girl meet.

Pure as any pearl:
Everyone rejoices in
Such a little girl.

Happy as a robin
Gentle as a dove:

Everyone will love.

Fly away and seek her,
Little song of mine,
For I choose that very little girl
To be my Valentine.

THE OWL AND THE EEL

The owl and the eel and the warming pan,
They went to call on the soap fat man.
The soap fat man he was not within:
He's gone for a ride on his rolling pin.
So they all came back by the way of the town,
And turned the meeting house upside down.

The Babes in the Woods

THE BABES IN THE WOODS

The Children's Parents fell illOnce upon a time two children lived in a big house on the edge of a wood. Their parents, who loved them very dearly, were rich enough to buy them all the lovely things they longed for, and all day long they played in the beautiful garden. The learnt the songs of the birds and the secrets of the flowers. But one sad day their father and mother left them for a happier home in the skies and the sister and brother were left on their own.
The boy did his best to comfort his little sister, but sad days followed and although they didn't know it then
The Robbers took the children away there were sadder days still to come, for the children had an uncle whom they had never seen. He lived far away across the seas; but as soon as he heard that his brother was dead he knew that the children would inherit all their father's money. The uncle also knew that if he got rid of the children the money would be all his.
The more he thought of the money the greedier he became, and it wasn't long before evil spread
through his head and heart and he determined to kill the children and take their money.
So he hired two robbers, and paid them to take the children into a lonely spot in the wood and
there, kill them.
