Blog for New Year Blog for New Year Blog for New Year

BE HAPPY TODAY for It's Happiness Day

I must apologise for the lack of blogs at the Castle this month, as you
can imagine having a family the size of mine you have a million and one
things to take care of.

It has been a very strange month mind you, an awful lot of things have
happened, the landmark Woolworth have closed their doors in Aberdare
today. The first in Wales to do so, I wasn't a huge customer, I think I
gave up going their when I became a mother and found other things like
food to spend my hard earned house-keeping on.

I suppose I grew up with Woolworth, M & S, Littlewoods, they have
all gone now as well
I think. Hey does anyone remember Timothy Whites,
the fore-runner to Mr Bevan here in Wales. My early Christmas memories where in Liverpool the home of my Grandmother, "Number 10 Kremlin Drive, Stonycroft. Gosh that was almost sixty years ago, deary me I
am an Ancient Dragon after all, hee he. Lister Drive School, The Swimming Baths, the Carlton Cinema, Mrs Mullins Sweetie Shop were we could buy four blackjacks for a penny (1d, that is!) A liquorice stick and a piece of Sticky Lice. Come on who amongst you old codgers remembers Sticky Lice. You can still get it in Wrexham in that wee shop on the left before going into the market. (or on the right if you're coming out, Smile
I have the Swiss Family Robinson on the TV, I'm not sure a desert island is for me, I like my music too much, I don't think I could live a week before listening or watching Pink Floyd in Venice. Agh- h- h! and what about Lord of the Rings, I couldn't go without the films, oh dear, what am I talking about. If the worst ever happened I guess we all live on an island anyway, just chop off the Channel Tunnel, hey and were free again.
Wink
Right
where was I, Yes Mrs Mullins, but that was ages ago, times past as in the fabulous stories of Charles Dickens, and were back in Pontybodkyn watching the Family Robinson.
with
dozens of birds and squirrels fighting for the seeds put out by Peter, my beloved Embarassed I also have a couple of dogs, Abbey and Penny , there pics scattered over the home-pages of my web sites. Gosh which brings me back to 13.20 on Saturday 27th December, and must be cup of tea time. I still have a few things to do before putting the first chapter of book three of the Dragon Lord Trilogy into place.
So if you will forgive me again, I will get on with some work now... after my cup of tea, of course.... I hope to see you all very soon and I promise plenty more blogs.

Happy New Year to Every One and may 2009 be the best one yet.
