Lovely story from the Channel Isle, discovered through the wonderful Google

THE CHANNEL ISLANDS.
ALDERNEY - GUERNSEY - HERM - JERSEY - SARK

HOW WONDERFUL THAT TODAY I SHOULD TURN ON MY COMPUTER TO FIND THERE IS AN ADVERT FOR A NEW BOOK CONCERNING, ALDERNEY, HERM AND GUERNSEY;

RACHEL’S SHOE by Peter Lihou
‘A marvellous tale of love, heroism and greed that spans over thirty years, this book has universal appeal and will I feel be taken to the hearts of all. This is not a story about the Holocaust, but it is about the ramifications of that terrible atrocity.

Rachel's Shoe

The island of Herm and waters around it provide

a stunningly beautiful back drop to the dangers Rachel and Tom face.

"I do love it when I can oblige someone by helping them to fulfil their dreams."

What I like about it, and the reason I have put it here in "Dodies Channel Isles Page is because it is the story about two young teenagers, Tom is only 15 and without thought of himself he goes to the rescue of a young Jewish girl who escaped from the prison camp on Alderney.
